The collectible silver coin of Great Britain was minted in 2008 to commemorate the Centenary of the Olympic Games in London. The piece celebrates the century since the fourth modern Olympiad which was held in the city in 1908. 2-pound silver coin has plated borders looking like bimetallic one. The obverse of the collectible coin bears the profile portrait of the Queen Elizabeth II in the center while the Latin title and name of hers are struck along the rim on the yellow border. The reverse of the piece is designed in minimalistic way; the image is a combination of numbers “1908”, “2008” as the minting year and denomination indicated by words. All inscriptions and numbers are inserted into some kind of net. The subject of the collectible coin is explained by the semicircular inscription going along the rim on the yellow border.
