The set of Soviet Russian (USSR) coins contains items with different face value and different years of issue. The total weight of the lot is 1 lb (453,5 grams). The USSR coins are not used as means of payment anymore, but still have numismatic value for collectors. Metal coins called kopeks (1/100 of the ruble) were minted in the USSR since the early 20-ies of XX century till the Soviet Union’s collapse in 1991. They are made of various alloys including nickel, copper, zinc, brass and aluminum. The coins have face values of 1, 2, 3, 5, 10, 15, 20 and 50 kopeks. Soviet Russia’s metal money is designed using a number of socialist symbols, but there are differences between mintages, so the cost of each coin depends on it. USSR had two official Mints which were the Moscow Mint and the Leningrad Mint; each of them had its own mark.
