The rare and quite unusual collectible coin made of .999 silver and weights 6 troy ounces. The 50-dollar coin of Niue is cylindrical with all its three surfaces covered with amazing detailed reliefs in antique art manner. The reverse of the coin contains the gilded round with the portrait of Mercury made in Roman coin-style. The rest of the surface is covered with the astronomical map of the sky. The same background is there on the obverse of the piece, but the central place of it is occupied by the relief image of Mercury. The figure of the Roman god of trade and communications is the replica of the Flying Mercury statue by G.Bologne. The traditional British Queen’s portrait is minted beside Mercury while the coin’s denomination is indicated there too. The wide rim of the cylindrical coin is decorated with the relief image of the sky map.
