A new coin.
The 2006 Malaysia 10 Ringgit silver coin celebrates the 50th anniversary of Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), one of Malaysia’s major institutions of higher education, founded in 1956. The obverse presents a dynamic anniversary composition with a large stylized “50,” the Malaysian flag incorporated into the design, a crescent motif, horizontal linear elements, decorative dot rows and the anniversary dates 1956–2006. The denomination and Bank Negara Malaysia appear below. The reverse is centered on the Universiti Teknologi MARA emblem: a shield-like frame containing layered geometric forms, an academic-inspired upper element and two crossed traditional motifs. Elegant ornamental calligraphy fills the lower field, while a finely segmented border frames both sides. Created to mark five decades of UiTM’s contribution to education and professional development in Malaysia, this silver Proof issue combines academic history with distinctive national design. Certified PCGS PR69, it is an excellent choice for collectors of Malaysian commemoratives, university themes and modern silver coinage.
