The 1976 Malaysia 15 Ringgit Gaur Bull silver coin celebrates wildlife conservation and one of Southeast Asia’s most impressive wild bovines, the gaur, locally known as seladang. The wildlife side presents a remarkably detailed standing gaur with massive curved horns, muscular body, textured head and coat, hooves and hanging tail. Tropical grasses and broad-leaved vegetation surround the animal, creating a natural forest habitat, while the denomination appears below. The opposite side displays Malaysia’s national coat of arms: two heraldic tigers support a divided shield beneath a crescent and fourteen-point star, with a flowing motto ribbon below; the country name and 1976 date frame the composition. The gaur is the world’s largest living wild cattle species and an important symbol of Southeast Asian forest biodiversity. Struck in silver with a Proof finish, this conservation-themed issue is certified PCGS PR68, combining wildlife art, national symbolism and Malaysian numismatic heritage in an especially attractive collector coin.
