A new coin.
Malaysia’s 1980 5 Sen Republic Coinage is an outstanding copper-nickel Proof, preserved at the exceptional PCGS PR70 Deep Cameo level. Its architectural side presents Parliament House in Kuala Lumpur, combining the distinctive tall rectangular tower with its dense grid of windows and the adjoining low legislative building. Above the complex are a crescent and multi-pointed star, important Malaysian national symbols, while a finely detailed border surrounds the design. The opposite side is dominated by the large numeral 5, with Malaysia, the 5 Sen denomination and 1980 date arranged around it. Small floral sprays appear on both sides of the value, bringing an elegant botanical accent to the composition. Parliament House is closely associated with Malaysia’s federal legislature, giving the coin strong themes of architecture, government and national identity. The flawless PR70 DCAM certification, crisp relief and brilliant contrasting surfaces make this 1980 CuNi issue a particularly desirable certified Malaysian collectible.
