A new coin.
This Mexico 50 Pesos silver coin from 1985, KM-504, celebrates the 1986 FIFA World Cup hosted by Mexico. Certified PCGS PR69 DCAM, this remarkable Proof coin features mirrored fields and frosted details. The reverse portrays a stylized football player running beside a stepped geometric structure, accompanied by a small circle, two football emblems, the Mo mint mark, $50 denomination, 1985 date and inscriptions COPA MUNDIAL DE FUTBOL and MEXICO 86. Decorative horizontal lines complete the design. The obverse displays Mexico's national coat of arms: an eagle gripping a serpent while standing on a prickly pear cactus, surrounded by cactus fruits, oak and laurel branches, a ribbon, beaded border and ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS inscription. Mexico became the first nation to host the FIFA World Cup twice, making this issue a meaningful tribute to international football history. Its exceptional PR69 Deep Cameo grade makes it an attractive addition to any sports or Mexican numismatic collection.
