Mexico 1 onza Libertad Angel of Independence KM-494.2 MS66 PCGS silver coin 1990

The 1990 Mexico 1 Onza Libertad silver coin, KM-494.2, celebrates Mexican independence, national pride, and timeless artistic heritage. Certified PCGS MS66, this beautiful collectible features the iconic Winged Victory, or Angel of Independence, standing triumphantly with magnificent feathered wings, flowing drapery, a raised laurel wreath, and a broken chain in her hand. The volcanic peaks of Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl rise behind her, accompanied by the inscriptions “1 onza,” “PLATA PURA,” “1990,” “MEXICO,” and “LEY .999.” The reverse displays Mexico’s national coat of arms: a powerful eagle grasping a serpent while perched upon a prickly pear cactus, framed by oak and laurel branches and the inscription “ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS.” Inspired by the famous Independence Monument in Mexico City, this design symbolizes liberty and sovereignty. Struck in .999 fine silver, this certified MS66 Libertad is a superb addition to any Mexican coin collection.
