This 1999 Mexico 1 Onza Libertad, KM-613, is a .999 fine silver coin certified MS 67 by PCGS, featuring some of Mexico’s most celebrated national imagery. The reverse depicts the Winged Victory, or Angel of Independence, standing atop her monumental column with an outstretched arm, flowing drapery and dramatically raised feathered wings. Behind the figure are the volcanic peaks Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl, with rugged mountain slopes, foothills, fields, vegetation and small cactus plants completing the landscape. The inscriptions record 1 ONZA PLATA PURA, 1999, LEY .999 and the Mexican Mint mark. The obverse presents Mexico’s national coat of arms: an eagle with powerful layered wings holding a serpent in its beak and talon while standing on a prickly pear cactus. Detailed cactus pads and fruit are framed by oak and laurel branches with leaves, berries and a tied ribbon, beneath ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS. The strong MS 67 PCGS grade enhances the appeal of this classic Libertad for silver bullion and Mexican numismatic collections.
