This 1990 Mexico 1 Onza Libertad, KM#494.2, is a .999 fine silver bullion coin certified PCGS MS 67, featuring one of Mexico’s most recognizable national designs. The obverse depicts the Winged Victory, or Angel of Independence, with large feathered wings spread behind her. She raises a laurel wreath in her right hand and holds broken chains in her left, symbols of victory and freedom. Flowing drapery covers the figure, while the Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl volcanoes rise across the background. The design includes the 1 Onza denomination, pure silver designation, 1990 date, .999 fineness and Mexican Mint mark. The reverse displays Mexico’s national coat of arms: a powerful eagle gripping a serpent in its beak and talon while perched on a prickly pear cactus. Detailed cactus pads and fruit, oak and laurel branches, leaves, tied ribbon, national legend and geometric rim border complete the composition. PCGS MS 67 certification adds strong collector appeal to this classic Mexican Libertad.
