This 1998 Mexico 10 Pesos Republic coin, KM-616, is a distinctive bimetallic issue certified MS65 by PCGS and inspired by Mexico’s ancient heritage and national identity. The denomination side presents a detailed section of the Aztec Sun Stone, dominated by its famous central face with large eyes, nose, mouth, teeth, extended tongue and elaborate ear ornaments. Around it are radiating panels containing stylized faces, animal-like figures, circular glyphs, geometric motifs and numerous intricate pre-Columbian symbols. The golden-colored outer ring carries the $10 denomination, 1998 date and Mo mint mark, framed by a stepped rim pattern. The opposite side displays the Mexican national coat of arms: a powerful eagle with spread, finely layered feathers gripping a curved serpent in its beak and talon while standing on a prickly pear cactus. Cactus pads, fruits and stems appear below, while oak and laurel branches tied with a ribbon complete the composition beneath the national legend. The strong MS65 grade and richly detailed Aztec imagery make this certified coin an appealing piece of Mexican numismatic history.
