This 1992 Mexico 10 Pesos Republic coin, KM-553, is a distinctive bimetallic issue certified MS67 by PCGS, combining Mexico’s pre-Columbian heritage with its national identity. The denomination side is dominated by an intricate section of the Aztec Sun Stone: a powerful central face with outlined eyes, nose, mouth, teeth and projecting tongue is surrounded by concentric panels filled with stylized heads, circular symbols, glyph-like figures and geometric ornament. The golden-colored outer ring carries N$10, the date 1992, Mo mint mark and DIEZ NUEVOS PESOS, bordered by a repeating stepped pattern. The opposite side displays Mexico’s national coat of arms, with a richly feathered eagle holding a curved serpent in its beak and talon while standing on a prickly pear cactus. Individual cactus pads, fruits and branches are clearly rendered, while oak and laurel foliage tied with a ribbon forms the lower wreath beneath ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS. The strong MS67 PCGS grade, detailed Aztec imagery and contrasting bimetallic construction make this an appealing certified Mexican collectible.
