This 2011 Mexico 1/4 Onza Libertad KM-611 is a proof silver coin certified PR68 by PCGS, featuring one of the most recognizable designs of modern Mexican numismatics. The reverse portrays the Winged Victory, or Angel of Independence, standing atop her column with finely rendered wings, an extended right arm and flowing drapery. Behind the figure rise Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl, surrounded by a broad valley landscape with vegetation and distant architectural details. The inscriptions identify the 1/4 Onza denomination, pure silver, 2011 date, .999 fineness and Mexican Mint mark. The obverse presents Mexico’s national coat of arms beneath ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS: an eagle with layered feathers holds a serpent in its beak and talon while perched on a prickly pear cactus. Cactus pads and fruits, rocks, oak and laurel branches, tied ribbon and a geometric border complete the composition. The Winged Victory commemorates Mexico’s independence and has become an enduring symbol of liberty. Its PCGS PR68 grade and reflective proof finish make this 2011 Libertad a desirable collectible.
