This 1992 Mexico 100 Pesos silver coin, KM-563, belongs to the Pre-Columbian cultural theme and is certified PR69 by PCGS. The principal design presents an impressive Brasero Efigie, a sculptural ceremonial effigy vessel inspired by ancient Mexican artistry. Its strongly modeled face features large circular eyes, an elaborate nose ornament, curled decorative forms, a broad mouth with pendant elements, textured surfaces and a massive rectangular headdress. The effigy is surrounded by a border of repeating pre-Columbian glyph-like symbols, accompanied by the date 1992, Mexico City mint mark, BRASERO EFIGIE inscription and $100 denomination. The opposite side displays Mexico’s national coat of arms: an eagle with detailed spread wings gripping a serpent while standing on a prickly pear cactus, with cactus pads and fruit above oak and laurel branches tied by a ribbon. The inscriptions identify 1 onza of .999 fine silver. Brilliant Proof fields, sculptural relief and PCGS PR69 certification make this coin especially appealing for collectors of Mexican archaeology, ancient art and Pre-Columbian numismatics.
