This 2000 Mexico 1/10 Onza Libertad silver coin, certified PCGS MS66, presents one of Mexico’s most celebrated national designs. The obverse features the Mexican coat of arms: a powerful eagle with spread wings grasping a serpent in its beak and talon while standing on a prickly pear cactus, surrounded by oak and laurel branches and the legend “ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS.” The reverse depicts the Winged Victory, or Angel of Independence, standing on her column with one arm extended and wings dramatically raised. Behind her rise the volcanic peaks Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl, with a detailed valley landscape below. The inscriptions identify the 1/10 Onza denomination, 2000 date and .999 pure silver fineness, accompanied by the Mexican Mint mark. Graded MS66 by PCGS, this Libertad combines national symbolism, historic imagery and high-grade preservation, making it an attractive addition to Mexican and world silver collections.
