This Mexico 100 Pesos 2004 bimetallic coin honors the State of Querétaro and its place within the Mexican Federation. Certified PCGS MS64, it features a contrasting silver-colored center and golden outer ring. The state side presents the detailed coat of arms of Querétaro: a crowned eagle above a divided shield, flanked by draped flags and accompanied by military trophies, floral branches and decorative elements. The date 2004 appears beside the shield, while ESTADO DE QUERÉTARO ARTEAGA, the Mo Mexico City mint mark, $100 denomination and dotted border occupy the outer ring. The national side displays Mexico’s powerful coat of arms with an eagle grasping a snake while standing on a prickly pear cactus, surrounded by the legend ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS and a wreath of oak and laurel branches. Combining regional heraldry, Mexican history and national symbolism, this attractive MS64 example is an excellent addition to collections of Mexican states and modern bimetallic coinage.
