This 1991 Mexico 1/10 Onza Libertad silver coin, certified PCGS MS68, is a high-grade example of Mexico’s iconic bullion series and its celebrated Winged Victory design. The reverse depicts the Angel of Independence standing on her monumental column, her wings fully raised and one arm extended, with the volcanic peaks Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl forming the mountainous background. The inscriptions include 1/10 ONZA, PLATA PURA, 1991, MEXICO, LEY .999 and the Mexican Mint mark. The obverse displays Mexico’s national coat of arms: an eagle with spread wings gripping a serpent while perched on a prickly pear cactus, framed below by oak and laurel branches and surrounded by “ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS.” A finely beaded border completes both sides. Graded MS68 by PCGS, this .999 fine silver Libertad offers excellent preservation and enduring Mexican national symbolism, making it especially desirable for collectors of certified Libertads and world silver coins.
