The 2004 Malawi 10 Kwacha commemorative coin honors Lu Hsiu-lien, a prominent Taiwanese political figure and Vice President of the Republic of China. Certified PCGS PL68, it is struck in silvered bronze with selective gilding, creating a striking contrast between silver-colored borders and golden central designs. The portrait side features a gilded bust of Lu Hsiu-lien wearing glasses, a formal jacket and necklace, surrounded by commemorative text, small floral emblems and a beaded border. The opposite side depicts the Presidential Office Building in detailed relief, including its long symmetrical façade, numerous windows and distinctive central tower. Floral symbols, the 10 Kwacha denomination and contrasting outer ring complete the composition. Lu Hsiu-lien served as Vice President from 2000 to 2008 and was the first woman to hold that office. Combining modern political history, portraiture, architecture and selective gilding, this high-grade PCGS PL68 issue is an unusual and visually impressive world collectible.
