This Moldova 100 Lei KM-112 silver commemorative coin, issued in 2013 and certified PCGS PR69, celebrates 1900 years since the inauguration of Trajan's Column in Rome. The reverse depicts the magnificent ancient Roman monument, featuring its tall cylindrical shaft decorated with spiral relief carvings, an ornate pedestal with sculptural details and a statue crowning the column. The surrounding inscription commemorates its inauguration in 113 AD. The obverse presents Moldova's national coat of arms: an eagle with spread wings holding a cross, olive branch and scepter, with a shield displaying an aurochs head, star, rose and crescent. The inscriptions REPUBLICA MOLDOVA, 2013 and 100 LEI complete the design. Built to honor Emperor Trajan's victories in the Dacian Wars, the column remains a remarkable record of Roman history and architecture. Its elegant Proof finish and near-perfect PCGS grade make this silver coin an appealing historical collectible.
