This 1971 Mauritius 1 Cent bronze coin is a striking Proof issue featuring Queen Elizabeth II and certified PCGS PR67 RD DCAM. The obverse presents the young right-facing crowned portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, surrounded by the royal legend, with a finely denticled border emphasizing the classic Commonwealth design. Elizabeth II reigned from 1952 to 2022 and remained Mauritius’s monarch after the country gained independence in 1968, until Mauritius became a republic in 1992. The reverse is dominated by a large numeral 1 enclosed within a beaded circular border, with MAURITIUS above, ONE CENT below and the date 1971 at right. Fine rim denticles complete the symmetrical composition. The bronze surfaces retain the desirable RD designation, while the Deep Cameo Proof finish creates strong contrast between frosted devices and reflective fields. Certified PR67 RD DCAM by PCGS, this high-grade coin combines royal portraiture, Mauritian history and exceptional Proof presentation.
