The 2003 Macedonia 100 Denari Krste Petkov Misirkov KM-Pn8 is a scarce silver Trial issue commemorating Krste Petkov Misirkov (1874–1926), an important philologist, journalist, historian and author associated with the development of the Macedonian literary language. Certified PCGS SP67, this special issue combines experimental numismatic status with a strongly literary design. The obverse presents a detailed frontal portrait of Misirkov with neatly styled hair, full beard and moustache, formal jacket, shirt and bow tie. The reverse is dominated by an open book, its layered pages clearly outlined and flanked by two elegant plant branches. The composition references his influential 1903 work “On Macedonian Matters,” with a reproduction of his signature across the book, while the 100 Denari denomination appears above and the commemorative 1903–2003 dates below. Reflective silver fields contrast beautifully with the raised portrait, book and botanical details. Its Trial status, PCGS certification and themes of literature, linguistics, education and cultural history give this unusual Macedonian issue considerable collector appeal.
