The 1988 Marshall Islands 25 Dollars Greg Louganis “Twister” silver coin celebrates competitive diving and the extraordinary athletic precision of one of the sport’s greatest champions. The obverse presents Louganis in a tightly controlled twisting dive, his body folded forward, legs together and extended, arms drawn toward his feet and head tucked into the rotation. The composition conveys the flexibility, timing and control required in elite diving. Louganis became a four-time Olympic gold medalist and achieved the remarkable springboard and platform double at both the 1984 and 1988 Games. The reverse carries the richly detailed Marshall Islands national seal: a winged angel, radiant sun, traditional sailing canoe on ocean waves, palm tree, tropical plants, geometric star, traditional implements and woven ornament, surrounded by an intricate chain-like border. Struck in silver with a Proof finish and certified NGC PF69, this high-grade coin combines sports history, Pacific imagery and superb numismatic presentation, ideal for an advanced world or sports collection.
