A new medal.
This 1976 Mexican silver medal, certified PCGS SP64, features two distinguished political figures, Gustavo Díaz Ordaz and Luis Echeverría Álvarez, whose presidencies shaped modern Mexican history. One side presents a striking high-relief portrait of Díaz Ordaz, with neatly combed hair, rectangular eyeglasses, expressive facial features, and the inscription LIC. GUSTAVO DIAZ ORDAZ, accompanied by 1964–1970. The opposite side depicts Echeverría Álvarez wearing a formal suit, shirt, and tie, with carefully engraved hair, glasses, and facial details. His name and presidential term, 1970–1976, complete the composition. Díaz Ordaz oversaw major infrastructure projects and the 1968 Mexico City Olympics, while Echeverría pursued economic reforms and expanded Mexico's international diplomatic engagement. Struck in silver with detailed sculptural relief and attractive natural toning, this historical medal offers an interesting addition to collections of Mexican presidents, politics, and twentieth-century history.
