This 1992 Mexico 25 Pesos silver coin, KM-554, belongs to the Pre-Columbian series and presents a striking interpretation of an Aztec eagle warrior, or Guerrero Águila. The reverse centers on a stylized warrior figure wearing an imposing eagle-shaped helmet with a large curved beak and prominent crest, while his face emerges beneath the ceremonial headgear. The portrait is framed by a continuous border of small pre-Columbian decorative motifs, with the Mexican Mint mark, date 1992, GUERRERO AGUILA inscription and $25 denomination completing the design. The obverse displays Mexico’s national coat of arms: an eagle with spread wing gripping a rattlesnake while standing on a fruit-bearing prickly pear cactus, surrounded by oak and laurel branches. ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS appears above, while 1/4 ONZA DE PLATA LEY 0.999 identifies the fine silver issue. Eagle warriors formed an elite military order in Aztec society and remain a powerful symbol of pre-Columbian Mexican culture. Certified PCGS MS67, this high-grade coin combines Aztec history, detailed indigenous imagery and exceptional numismatic appeal.
