This 1993 Mexico 20 Pesos bimetallic coin, KM-561, is the distinctive Longer Stems variety featuring Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla, a central figure in Mexican independence. The portrait side shows Hidalgo in a strong left-facing profile, with carefully engraved facial features and swept hair, his name HIDALGO below. The Mexican Mint mark and 1993 date appear at right, while the brass-colored outer ring carries the large $20 denomination and long leafy wreath stems rising prominently along both sides, completed by a tied bow below and geometric rim decoration. The opposite side displays Mexico’s national coat of arms: an eagle with spread wing grasping a rattlesnake in its beak and talon while standing on a fruit-bearing prickly pear cactus. Oak and laurel branches and ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS complete the design. Hidalgo helped initiate Mexico’s struggle for independence in 1810. Certified PCGS MS63, this Longer Stems variety combines historical importance, national symbolism and specialized bimetallic collecting appeal.
