Mexico 2 onzas Libertad Angel of Independence KM-614 MS 68 PCGS silver coin 2000

This 2000 Mexico 2 Onzas Libertad, KM-614, is a .999 fine silver coin certified PCGS MS68, combining a high Mint State grade with one of Mexico’s most recognizable national designs. The reverse features the Winged Victory, the Angel of Independence, standing on the Independence Column with outstretched feathered wings, extended arm and flowing drapery. Behind her rise the volcanic peaks Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl above a broad valley, fields and distant terrain, while agave and prickly pear cactus appear in the foreground. The inscriptions identify 2 ONZAS PLATA PURA, 2000, LEY .999 and the Mexico City Mint mark. The obverse presents Mexico’s national coat of arms: an eagle holding a serpent while perched on a prickly pear cactus, framed by oak and laurel branches and the national title. Ten historic forms of the Mexican eagle emblem encircle the central arms, incorporating eagles, serpents, cactus plants, wreaths and branches. The MS68 certification makes this impressive silver Libertad especially appealing to collectors of Mexican coinage, national symbolism and high-grade bullion issues.
