This Mexico 100 Pesos 1991 silver coin commemorates the Encounter of Two Worlds and the approaching 500th anniversary of the 1492 voyage linking Europe and the Americas. Certified PCGS PR69DCAM, it combines deeply mirrored fields with sharply frosted details. The reverse features two crowned Pillars of Hercules wrapped with PLUS and VLTRA banners, overlapping globes depicting the Americas and the Old World, and three historic sailing ships crossing stylized ocean waves. The $100 denomination, 1991 date, Mexico City Mo mint mark, 1492–1992 dates and ENCUENTRO DE DOS MUNDOS legend frame the maritime design. The obverse displays Mexico’s national eagle grasping a snake while standing on a cactus, with oak and laurel branches below. Around it appears a remarkable circle of national coats of arms and emblems representing the participating Ibero-American nations, together with ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS. A high-grade Proof silver collectible rich in exploration, maritime and heraldic symbolism.
