This 2000 Mexico 10 Pesos Millennium coin, KM-636, is a distinctive bimetallic issue certified MS 67 by PCGS and dedicated to the transition into the new millennium. The reverse showcases the central portion of the celebrated Aztec Sun Stone, dominated by the stylized face of Tonatiuh with prominent eyes, mouth and projecting tongue. Around it appear concentric bands filled with Aztec glyphs, circular emblems, geometric panels, human and animal-like figures and elaborate pre-Columbian ornamentation. The golden-colored outer ring bears the $10 denomination, Mo mint mark, ANO 2000 inscription and four small commemorative symbols, with rectangular denticles bordering the rim. The obverse presents Mexico’s national coat of arms: a finely feathered eagle grasps a curved snake in its beak and talon while perched on a prickly pear cactus bearing numerous fruits. Oak and laurel branches with individual leaves meet below in a tied ribbon, while ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS crowns the design. Combining millennium history, Aztec art and national heraldry, this high-grade PCGS MS 67 coin is a compelling collectible for Mexican and world numismatics.
