Mexico 1 onza Libertad Angel of Independence KM-613 MS 66 PCGS silver coin 1999

This 1999 Mexico 1 Onza Libertad, KM#613, is a .999 fine silver coin certified PCGS MS66, presenting Mexico’s celebrated symbols of liberty and national heritage. The obverse depicts the Winged Victory, or Angel of Independence, standing atop her architectural pedestal with one arm extended and large feathered wings dramatically raised. Flowing drapery surrounds the figure, while the Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl volcanoes, rugged mountain formations, valley fields, vegetation and small cactus plants form the detailed background. Inscriptions include 1 Onza, Plata Pura, 1999, Ley .999 and the Mexican Mint mark. The reverse features Mexico’s national coat of arms: a powerful eagle with layered wings and tail feathers gripping a serpent in its beak and talon while perched on a prickly pear cactus. Cactus pads, fruits, rocks, oak and laurel branches, leaves, berries, tied ribbon, Estados Unidos Mexicanos legend and geometric rim ornament enrich the design. The strong PCGS MS66 grade adds further collector appeal to this classic Mexican Libertad.
