Mexico 1 onza Libertad Angel of Independence KM-494.2 MS67 PCGS silver coin 1990

This 1990 Mexico 1 Onza Libertad, KM#494.2, is a .999 fine silver coin certified PCGS MS 67, featuring one of Mexico’s most recognizable national designs. The obverse centers on the Winged Victory, or Angel of Independence, shown with finely detailed feathered wings, flowing classical drapery, a laurel wreath raised triumphantly in her right hand and broken chains in her left. Behind the figure rises the dramatic landscape of the Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl volcanoes. The inscriptions identify 1 Onza of Plata Pura, Mexico, the 1990 date and Ley .999 fineness, accompanied by the Mexican Mint mark. The reverse displays the national coat of arms: a powerful eagle with spread, layered wings gripping a serpent while standing upon a prickly pear cactus. Detailed cactus pads and fruit, oak and laurel branches, leaves, a tied ribbon, the national legend and patterned rim complete the composition. Certified MS 67 by PCGS, this Libertad combines precious silver, Mexican heritage and exceptional numismatic appeal.
