This 1990 Mexico 1 Onza Libertad, KM#494.2, is a .999 fine silver bullion coin certified PCGS MS 65, combining Mexican independence symbolism with attractive natural toning. The obverse depicts the Winged Victory, or Angel of Independence, with large feathered wings spread behind her, a laurel wreath raised high in her right hand and broken chains held in her left. Flowing drapery surrounds the figure, while the volcanic peaks Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl rise across the background. The inscriptions identify 1 ONZA, PLATA PURA, MEXICO, 1990 and LEY .999, accompanied by the Mexican Mint mark. The reverse displays the national coat of arms: a powerful eagle with extended wings grasping a serpent in its beak and talon while perched on a prickly pear cactus. Oak and laurel branches tied with a ribbon complete the emblem beneath the ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS legend. Graded MS 65 by PCGS, this early-style Libertad offers silver bullion, historic imagery and distinctive toned surfaces in a certified collectible.
