This 1992 Mexico 1/2 Onza Libertad silver coin, certified PCGS MS66, captures one of Mexico’s most recognizable national designs in high-grade Mint State preservation. The reverse presents the Winged Victory, or Angel of Independence, with finely rendered feathered wings, raised wreath and flowing classical drapery. Behind her are the volcanic peaks Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl, while the inscriptions identify 1/2 ONZA, PLATA PURA, 1992, MEXICO and LEY .999, together with the Mexican Mint mark. The obverse displays Mexico’s national coat of arms: a powerful eagle with spread wings holding a serpent while standing on a fruit-bearing prickly pear cactus. Oak and laurel branches tied by a ribbon frame the lower composition, while ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS curves above. Struck in .999 fine silver and graded MS66 by PCGS, this Libertad combines Mexican history, national symbolism, precious metal appeal and certified quality, making it a desirable addition to a world silver collection.
