This Mexico 1/10 Onza Libertad silver coin of 2001, KM-610, is a low-mintage Proof issue struck in .999 fine silver by the Mexican Mint and certified PR 69 by PCGS. The reverse features Winged Victory, the Angel of Independence, standing atop her column with one arm extended and finely feathered wings rising behind her. Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl dominate the background, accompanied by the Valley of Mexico landscape and small plants below. The legends include 1/10 ONZA PLATA PURA, 2001, LEY .999 and the Mo mint mark. The obverse displays Mexico’s national coat of arms beneath ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS: an eagle gripping a snake while perched on a prickly pear cactus, framed by oak and laurel branches tied with ribbon. Only 1,500 Proof examples were issued in 2001. Its mirrorlike fields, iconic national imagery and near-perfect PCGS PR69 grade make this fractional Libertad especially desirable.
