This 1994 Marshall Islands 50 Dollars silver coin is dedicated to Pluto, combining Solar System astronomy with imagery inspired by classical mythology. Certified by PCGS as PR68, the reverse is dominated by a large celestial disk with crater-like surface details. Beside it stands Pluto, the Roman god of the underworld, portrayed as a bearded, helmeted figure wearing classical armor and holding a long staff. He leads a three-headed dog on a chain, a reference to Cerberus, the legendary guardian of the underworld. The astronomical symbol for Pluto appears prominently near the figure, while a smaller celestial body, numerous stars, dotted constellations and cross-shaped star symbols complete the cosmic background. The date 1994 and $50 denomination are also shown. The obverse features the Marshall Islands seal with winged figure, radiant sun, palm tree, traditional symbols, sailing canoe, ocean waves and ornamental border. An unusual silver collectible uniting Pluto, astronomy and ancient mythology.
