The 1988 Marshall Islands 25 Dollars Greg Louganis “Back Dive” silver coin celebrates competitive diving and the extraordinary career of one of the sport’s greatest champions. The obverse captures Louganis in mid-dive, his athletic figure shown inverted and arched backward, with legs held together and one arm extended outward, creating a dramatic sense of rotation and movement. Louganis became a four-time Olympic gold medalist, achieving the remarkable springboard and platform double at both the 1984 and 1988 Games. The reverse presents the richly detailed Marshall Islands national seal: a central winged angel, radiant sun, palm tree and tropical plants, traditional sailing canoe, ocean waves, geometric star motif, traditional implements and woven ornament, surrounded by an ornamental chain border. Struck in silver with Proof surfaces, this impressive example is certified NGC PF69, a near-perfect grade. Its dynamic sports imagery, Pacific symbolism and exceptional preservation make it a desirable addition to a certified world coin collection.
