The 2010 Malaysia – Kelantan 2 Dirhams is a distinctive .999 fine silver issue associated with the Kelantan State Government and the World Islamic Mint. Struck with brilliant proof-style surfaces, it combines regional heraldry with Islamic religious symbolism. One side presents the elaborate coat of arms of Kelantan: a central shield with crescent and star, a royal crown above, paired deer supporting the composition, additional shields, crossed weapons and an ornate ribbon below. The surrounding border identifies the 2 Dirhams denomination, Kelantan government and .999 silver fineness. The opposite side is dominated by elegant Arabic calligraphy arranged within a circular field, surrounded by a Quranic verse, with the small WIM emblem at the top. Issued in 2010, this unusual silver piece reflects Kelantan’s modern revival of dinar and dirham concepts and offers an appealing combination of Islamic culture, Malaysian heritage, heraldry and fine silver craftsmanship.
