A new coin.
The 1980 Malaysia 20 Sen is a striking proof coin from the country’s State Coinage, featuring one of Malaysia’s most recognizable architectural and national motifs. The obverse presents the Parliament House complex in Kuala Lumpur, with its tall rectangular tower rendered in a grid of windows beside the lower assembly building and distinctive angular roof structure. Above the architecture appear the crescent and fourteen-point star, prominent symbols of Malaysia. The reverse centers the large numeral 20, framed by delicate floral ornaments, with the country name, denomination and 1980 date arranged around the design. A scalloped inner border decorates both sides. Parliament House, completed in the 1960s, represents Malaysia’s federal legislative institution and has become an enduring symbol of the nation’s modern civic architecture. Struck in copper-nickel with a brilliant Deep Cameo Proof finish, this example is certified PCGS PR69DCAM, an exceptionally high grade. A superb collectible combining Malaysian history, architecture and outstanding certified preservation.
