The 1986 Malaysia 1 Ringgit silver commemorative coin celebrates the 35th Annual Conference of the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), held in Malaysia on April 9–16, 1986. Certified PCGS PR66DCAM, this distinctive proof combines tourism history, wildlife imagery and Malaysian floral symbolism. The commemorative side features a cheerful upright turtle mascot with rounded head, visible eye, smiling mouth, flipper-like arms and broad feet. Its shell carries the PATA 86 Malaysia emblem, while a circular disc forms the background behind its head. The conference title curves around the upper field and the event dates appear beneath the turtle. The opposite side displays a prominent $1 denomination beneath the name Bank Negara Malaysia. Along the lower edge is an intricate spray of hibiscus flowers with overlapping petals, leaves, stems and small buds. The Deep Cameo finish creates attractive contrast between frosted devices and reflective fields. An unusual certified silver issue ideal for collectors of Malaysia, PATA, travel, turtle, wildlife and floral-themed numismatics.
