The 2011 Malawi 20 Kwacha Year of the Rabbit is a colorful .999 silver Proof coin from the Lunar Calendar series, combining Chinese zodiac symbolism with an elegant nature composition. The reverse centers on a finely engraved rabbit with long upright ears, detailed fur, whiskers and alert eyes. Selective color brings the surrounding vegetation to life: large pink and yellow peony-like blossoms, buds, green leaves and stems rise above the animal, while orange pumpkins with curling green vines and leaves appear below. Ornamental swirling clouds frame the scene, alongside the red zodiac symbol and 2011 date. In Chinese tradition, the Rabbit is associated with gentleness, vigilance, elegance and good fortune, while flowers and abundant fruits reinforce themes of prosperity and renewal. The obverse displays Malawi’s coat of arms with shield, lion and leopard supporters, crest, decorative mantling, Unity and Freedom motto, Republic of Malawi name and 20 Kwacha denomination. A beautiful lunar collectible combining wildlife, floral art and vivid color.
