Macau 100 patacas Year Monkey KM-16 Lunar Calendar PR 69 PCGS silver coin 1980

This 1980 Macau 100 Patacas Year of the Monkey silver coin, KM-16, is a Lunar Calendar commemorative issue certified PR 69 by PCGS. The reverse presents a lively Monkey King-inspired figure riding through stylized clouds, dressed in flowing traditional garments and holding a long staff diagonally across the composition. A curling tail, layered cloud formations, two stars, the denomination “100 PATACAS,” Chinese characters and the number 11 enrich the detailed design. The obverse displays the historic coat of arms of Macau: a crowned Portuguese shield is supported by two kneeling winged angels, one holding a cross-topped staff and the other a circular emblem. A flowing ribbon with inscriptions appears below, while seven stars form a surrounding arc. “MACAU” crowns the composition and the date 1980 appears at the base. The brilliant Proof surfaces and exceptional PCGS PR 69 grade give this silver Lunar issue strong appeal for collectors of Macau, Chinese zodiac, mythology and world coinage.
