A new coin.
The 1995 Lesotho 1 Loti commemorative coin celebrates the 50th Anniversary of the United Nations, marking five decades since the organization was founded in 1945 to promote international cooperation, security and peace. Struck in copper-nickel and certified PCGS MS68, this high-grade issue combines an important global theme with distinctive national imagery. The obverse presents the coat of arms of the Kingdom of Lesotho: a central Basotho shield with a crocodile emblem, traditional weapons, two rearing Basotho ponies as supporters and the national motto on a ribbon below, framed by the country name and 1995 date. The reverse features a detailed architectural view of the Palais des Nations in Geneva, accompanied by the Armillary Sphere monument, landscaped grounds and the United Nations emblem with its world map and olive branches. The anniversary dates 1945–1995, peace theme and One Loti denomination complete the composition. A superb MS68 commemorative combining Lesotho heritage, international history and United Nations symbolism.
