Liberia 10 Dollars 1995 President Harry S. Truman is a Proof silver commemorative dedicated to the 33rd President of the United States and his place in 20th-century political history. The obverse features a finely modeled frontal portrait of Truman wearing round spectacles, a suit, shirt and tie, with his name, life dates 1884–1972 and $10 denomination arranged around the portrait. The reverse carries Liberia’s national coat of arms: a shield with a three-masted sailing ship on the sea, palm tree, rising sun, flying bird and plow, framed by flowing ribbons, the divided 1995 date and 10 Dollars denomination. Truman served as U.S. president from 1945 to 1953, assuming office during the final months of World War II and later playing a major role in the early Cold War era, including the Marshall Plan and formation of NATO. Struck in fine silver with a brilliant Proof finish, this historical issue combines presidential portraiture, politics and world numismatics in an attractive collectible.
