A new coin, a capsule, a CoA, a case.
The 2011 Liberia 5 Dollars Tsar Cannon silver coin from The Kremlin series highlights one of the Moscow Kremlin’s most celebrated historic monuments. The reverse presents the massive Tsar Cannon with its broad barrel, richly ornamented carriage, relief lion head, floral scrollwork, large decorated wheel and a group of spherical cannonballs in the foreground. Above appears a portrait medallion of Tsar Feodor I, during whose reign the cannon was cast, while a selectively gilded panel depicts a mounted warrior defeating a dragon. A flowing banner and repeating architectural border complete the composition. Cast in 1586 by master Andrey Chokhov, the Tsar Cannon is renowned for its monumental scale and elaborate craftsmanship and today remains preserved within the Kremlin. The obverse features Liberia’s coat of arms with sailing ship, bird, palm tree, rising sun, sea and plow, accompanied by the 2011 date and 5 Dollars denomination. Its silver surfaces, selective gilding and detailed historical imagery make this an appealing piece for collectors of architecture and world numismatics.
