The 2011 Liberia 5 Dollars Grand Kremlin Palace silver coin from The Kremlin series presents an impressive architectural tribute to Moscow’s historic Kremlin complex. The reverse features the monumental Grand Kremlin Palace with its long ornate façade, rows of windows, decorative roofline, central dome and tall flagpole, with trees filling the foreground. Above the palace appears a selectively gilded heraldic emblem with crowned shield and horseman, while a portrait medallion of Emperor Nicholas I recalls the ruler under whom the palace was commissioned. A bold geometric architectural ornament frames the entire composition. The Grand Kremlin Palace was constructed in the 19th century as an imperial residence and became one of the Kremlin’s defining landmarks. The obverse carries Liberia’s coat of arms with sailing ship, palm tree, rising sun, bird, sea and plow, alongside the 2011 date and 5 Dollars denomination. Struck in silver with a mirror-like finish and selective gilding, this distinctive issue combines architecture, imperial history and heraldic artistry.
