The 2011 Liberia 5 Dollars Tsar Bell silver coin from The Kremlin series celebrates one of the most remarkable historic monuments within the Moscow Kremlin. The reverse centers on the enormous Tsar Bell, rendered with its massive body, relief decoration, ornamental bands, pedestal and crowned cross above. Beside it appears a selectively gilded shield depicting a mounted horseman defeating a dragon, while a portrait medallion of Empress Anna Ivanovna recalls the ruler during whose reign the bell was cast. A flowing banner and repeating architectural ornament frame the scene. Cast in the 18th century, the Tsar Bell was intended as a monumental symbol of bell-making craftsmanship but was damaged before it could ever be rung; today it remains displayed inside the Kremlin. The obverse presents Liberia’s coat of arms with sailing ship, bird, palm tree, rising sun, sea and plow, accompanied by the 2011 date and 5 Dollars denomination. Silver surfaces, selective gilding and detailed relief make this a striking architecture and history collectible.
