Liberia 20 dollars Sydney Olympic Games series Basketball proof silver coin 2000

The Liberia 20 Dollars 2000 silver Proof coin celebrates basketball at the XXVII Olympic Games in Sydney, capturing the intensity of one of the world’s most popular team sports. The reverse shows two male basketball players facing each other in a dramatic one-on-one scene. One athlete bends forward while controlling the basketball, while his opponent adopts a defensive stance; uniforms, shorts, socks and detailed basketball shoes emphasize the sporting theme. Behind them, the British Union flag and Australian flag with stars form a symbolic international backdrop. XXVII OLYMPIC GAMES and the $20 denomination frame the composition. The obverse features Liberia’s national coat of arms with a sailing ship on waves, rising sun and rays, palm tree, plow and shovel. Ornamental ribbons display the national motto and country name, accompanied by REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA, the divided 20–00 date, 20 DOLLARS and a patterned border. Basketball was contested at Sydney 2000, where leading international teams competed for Olympic honors. Brilliant Proof fields and detailed relief make this silver sports issue an attractive collectible for Olympic, basketball and world coin enthusiasts.
