The 2006 Lithuania 50 Litu KM-151 silver Proof coin honors Emilija Pliaterytė, a celebrated participant in the November Uprising of 1830–1831 and an enduring historical figure associated with Lithuania. The reverse features a finely modeled portrait of the young Emilija in period clothing, with swept hair, high-collared coat and neck scarf, accompanied by the dates 1806–1831. The obverse presents Lithuania’s Vytis coat of arms above an elaborate battle scene: mounted fighters, infantrymen, fallen figures, weapons, flags and groups of soldiers create a dramatic panorama recalling the uprising. The date 2006, denomination, country name and mint mark complete the composition. Pliaterytė joined the uprising against Imperial Russian rule, organized an armed unit and became remembered for her courage and determination. Struck in silver with a refined Proof finish, this KM-151 commemorative combines military history, portraiture and national heritage, making it an appealing acquisition for collectors of Lithuanian and historical silver coins.
