Lithuania 5 litai Barn Owl KM-132 Wildlife Fauna Bird proof silver coin 2002

The 2002 Lithuania 5 Litai silver Proof coin celebrates the barn owl, Tyto alba, combining wildlife artistry with Lithuania’s national symbolism. The wildlife side presents the bird in a dramatic moment of flight, its broad wings fully spread and individually engraved flight feathers creating a striking sense of movement. The owl’s distinctive heart-shaped facial disc, forward-facing eyes, compact body, fanned tail and extended legs with sharp talons are rendered in fine detail, accompanied by its scientific name Tyto alba and a reference to Lithuania’s Red Data Book. The opposite side features the Vytis national emblem: an armored knight on a charging horse, holding a raised sword and a shield bearing the double cross. The country name, 2002 date and 5 Litai denomination complete the clean heraldic composition. Listed as KM-132 and struck in silver with a Proof finish, this nature-themed issue highlights a remarkable nocturnal bird while connecting wildlife conservation with Lithuanian numismatic art. A compelling choice for collectors of owls, birds, fauna and European silver coins.
