The 2013 Lithuania 100 Litu silver Proof coin commemorates the first map of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and is certified PCGS PR69DCAM. Its unusual square format creates a miniature historical document in precious metal. One side features a richly engraved portrait of Prince Mikołaj Krzysztof Radziwiłł “the Orphan,” shown with beard, ruff collar and elaborate period clothing against a detailed cartographic background; the denomination 100 is incorporated into the map imagery, while circular text frames the portrait. The opposite side combines fragments of an early map with historical text panels, ornamental corner decoration, a compass rose and Lithuania’s Vytis coat of arms showing the mounted knight with sword and shield. LIETUVA, 2013 and 100 LITU form a broad circular border. Radziwiłł sponsored the celebrated early-17th-century map of the Grand Duchy, an important achievement in the cartographic representation of the region. Struck in silver with an intricate Proof finish and graded PCGS PR69DCAM, this distinctive square coin unites cartography, exploration, heraldry and Lithuanian history in an exceptional collector piece.
