The 2011 Liberia 5 Dollars Sharp Stewart No. 148 is an attractive silver Proof coin from the History of Railroads series, dedicated to classic steam railway engineering. Its reverse presents a selectively colorized Sharp Stewart steam locomotive approaching along the tracks, with a tall chimney, cylindrical boiler, round buffers, dark cab, red buffer beam and visible steam creating a vivid historic scene. A dense plume of smoke rises above the engine, while railway lines, trees, buildings, mountainous terrain and several birds enrich the background. Stars frame the central composition. Sharp, Stewart & Co. was an important British locomotive manufacturer whose engines contributed to the expansion of rail transport during the industrial era, making the subject especially appealing to railway enthusiasts. The obverse displays Liberia’s coat of arms with sailing ship, ocean, palm tree, rising sun, bird and plow, together with the 2011 date and 5 Dollars denomination. Certified PCGS PR69DCAM, this near-perfect Deep Cameo silver issue combines transportation history, detailed artwork and strong collector appeal.
